The Purvale Insight
The Purvale Insight is a hand-held camera-based mobile system for measuring the dead weight of live pigs. By utilising machine vision technology, our proof of concept device can weigh a pig without contact or use of any mechanical scales, it can be used by a single operator, and does not disrupt the growing patterns of the pigs. We have developed this device working with a local farm to understand the needs of the industry.

How it Works
How it Works
To accurately weigh a pig, we've developed an extensive tool kit using the latest research in Computer Vision. With these tools, we can infer the position and size of a pig from a 3D image.
Working with industry experts, we've produced a model to take that information and output an accurate weight result.
